Our projects

We are always busy doing something. Here are some of the great things we are up to with our partners;

Coming in 2022…

In 2022 the GGCI will work in partnership with the Geelong Gaol Museum to realise three cultural heritage and creative works.

Where we live under the sky – takes visitors through the Gaol to view the artwork created by prisoners whilst serving sentence. This includes learning about the iconic 13m indigenous artwork located in the chapel.

Soldiers under sentence – is an exhibition that displays the history of the 119 soldiers serving sentence in the Geelong Gaol when it operated as a military detention centre in WW2. There are also tales of daring escapes with live performance.

Living Histories – Is an adventure into discovering a ‘Pack of 52’ Criminals who spent time in the Geelong Gaol across its 190 years of operations. Choose your own adventure to track their story across three levels. Also buy the deck of playing cards that shows the inmates of the gaol.

Watch out for more as these adventures come to life! See you there!
